Dear Girl Who Reads On My Morning Bus,

What is it that you read which intrigues you so?
Enough to let your chestnut hair cover those green eyes of yours:
Those still-water pools eddying with unseen currents,
Cold as the ocean - or maybe refreshing? Brisk, even.
You pour over yourbook as I quietly gaze at you,
Hoping you just might look up,
And hoping you don’t.

I’m not a strong swimmer:
